Any V-144 in the Lone Star?

First off --congratulations to CWO Harding on making it to retirement.

Next, in Sac now and shipping out to the Lone Star for helo flight training

in a few months. Any Damn Yankees from V-144 out there?

Was it Smoke or Steam ???

During Boot Camp at Cape May, a recruit in my company (Band Company Whiskey
& X-Ray 107) was on fire watch...when he came running through the squad bay
yelling "Fir,Fire,Fire"....Of course we all went out the back door with me
getting a rain coat that would fit a midget, and we former up outside at
about 0400. Then the helicopters and fire trucks showed up...only to find
out that he'd only seen the steam coming from the AC unit's on top of the
building !!! O,yes we ran, and ran, and then ran some more!!! Then all of
our lockers were turned over by Chief Etheridge, and our locks taken and
re-locked and thrown onto the parade ground, and we had 15 minutes to find
your own...We didn't and we ran some more !!! What memories !!!

Bombing Run

While standing in company formation just outside the chow hall, we notcied
a group of low flying sea gulls headed for us. You just knew what was going
to happen...and it did!!! We couldn't move, but a number of my company
mates(Band Company Whiskey 107,July 80 Cape May) took direct hits from the
gulls!!! And that was before chow !!!
